We Have Work To Do

I spent most of Sunday morning still basking in the euphoria of Friday’s CPL launch. After long delays, many of us joked that the day might never come, but in recent weeks we started seeing indications that an official launch was near. While frustrating at times, in the end the wait was worth it. Along with the new website and branding, an official confirmation of a Spring 2019 league kick off made this suddenly feel very real. We have less than a year which means it is time to get busy!  If your plan to support this league involves buying season tickets next year and cheering loudly in the stands, that is fantastic.  But there are many important ways we can all help out now. It is vital that we keep the conversation going.  If you haven’t already followed the […]

It’s Getting Closer!

As the days go by, the weather finally getting warmer, the snow melting off the pitch, I can’t help but get excited with anticipation of the 2019 season. With the impending announcements from around the country that are bound to start making news in the coming weeks, we as supporter organizations are in a unique position with the Canadian Premier League and its clubs! I can see the excitement building within Red River Rising, supporters starting to come out to pub nights, concepts of the possible crests, badges, and kits being designed, shared and discussed, it is hard to contain one’s self from feeling like a school aged child waiting for Christmas break. The Winnipeg football club is starting to embrace our organization as well, starting off as a tightly sealed treasure chest holding their cards close to their chest, […]

With the start of the 2019 inaugural season of the Canadian Premier League approaching I thought I would take this opportunity to share my supporting experience while in Europe, and my hope for the new club in Winnipeg. Securing my Ticket In April 2016 I was fortunate enough to secure tickets to an Arsenal match while I was over in England.  Now I should say I am a hardcore supporter of Arsenal Football club and have been for over 25 years.  As a supporter of Arsenal, you can only get tickets through being a member of an official supporter’s club.  After sending a request to Arsenal Canada, it was a few days until I was given the news that the Arsenal North Wiltshire Supporters club had a ticket for me! April 28, 2016: Stadium Tour I will never forget my […]

We’re Here

What is a supporters’ group? At the core, it’s a group of people who have a common goal to lift their team to greatness. In the soccer (football) world that translates to a group that stands behind and with their club no matter what. Supporters are the loudest voices in the stadium and our mission is to bring everyone in with us so we’re the loudest in the country. We are a diverse group with a common goal. Supporters’ culture means many things – standing, singing, scarves, flags, smoke, drums. But most of all it means unity. The group united in song, the city united in its support for the team, the team united to win. We asked some of the members of our group what being a supporter means to them. It means starting something from the ground […]
