Notre Histoire

(2016-2025) 
It all started with whispers and rumours of a national professional men’s league. Then the whispers grew in volume, the rumours looked more and more like reality, and in 2017 a domestic league for Canadian men looked like it was actually going to happen. That was the spark for founding member Adam Johnston to start the conversation online. He gathered soccer supporters —a small group of 8—who held a shared belief that the prospect of a local professional team to stand and sing for would turn into a reality.

On May 6, 2017 it did. The Canadian Premier League was announced with Winnipeg—along with Hamilton—being a founding team. We were all ecstatic and surprised with the news and got to work putting together the plan for our supporters’ group in earnest. We discussed what our purpose was—to grow soccer support in the community. In spring 2019, Valour FC kicked off its inaugural season. Little did we know this team would last just 7 seasons in Winnipeg. 

(2025-Present Day)
On November 21, 2025 Valour FC made the announcement that the club had suspended operations— leaving the dedicated supporters without a club to cheer for. Immediately the whispers and rumours started again, this time about a professional women’s team—A Winnipeg expansion in the Northern Super League. With 2 other cities also bidding for a spot, we are helping out in any way possible to make this a possibility a reality! 

Now we have the long road ahead of us to regrow our supporter group community. Fortunately we are not starting completely from scratch as we have a solid base of supporters willing to shift their focus to a future team. We want to inspire Winnipeg to join us in standing with our team. We want to show the community that when we rise together we can achieve something bigger than when we do it alone.
