Christmas Wish List

As they say, tis the season as the holidays are in the air. With just over four months until Valour FC’s first season in the Canadian Premier League (CPL), we are waiting like kids at the Christmas tree for the first kick off. With recent player signings and the U-Sports draft in the books, the picture is starting to become more apparent with what our team will look like. As the stockings are being hung by the chimney with care, here are some things we wish for in the inaugural Valour FC season. Signing an overseas well known International With the CPL now in play, the potential is there for top Canadian internationals to potentially come home. Just dreaming of the likes of Ian Hume, Milan Borjan, suiting up for a CPL club is mouth-watering. While it is more likely […]

Are you with us?

We are just catching our breath now, after a busy last week.  It began with Valour season tickets going on sale on Monday and culminated on Friday with a hard fought trialist battle on a cold blustery Winnipeg evening.  It was hard not to imagine for a moment that April was here, as we cheered the boys on from the stands. It’s no secret that Red River Rising is all in with our support of Rob Gale and his players and we will continue to partner with the club, making sure we are the loudest supporters in the Canadian Premier league.  If you have already bought your tickets in the our section, we would love to hear from you at info@RedRiverRising.ca  If you would like to be added to the Red River Rising mailing list, you can email us or […]

It’s Time!

It is finally time to start buying our season tickets.  We hope to see as many of you as possible in section #144, officially known as the Kings Head Supporter Section.  We are looking for as many people as possible to stand with us (previous supporter section experience is not required).  If you want to come out and have some fun, our section is for you.  And if you want to bring some friends along, even better! For those that don’t know what to expect in a supporter’s section, we recommend reading our post from earlier this year: https://www.redriverrising.ca/2018/04/06/were-here/ Supporters sections work best when ticketing is general admission, because it allows flexibility for executing TIFO and for those who will be more involved on any given day, to move to the front. Since our section will have assigned ‘seating’, here […]

Thanksgiving Reflection

Thanksgiving always make me reflective. As the Winnipeg open trial dates approach, I find myself thinking more about what the launch of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) means to me. I’m a Voyageur to my core, so in a broader sense, the development opportunity for Canadian players is exciting. But this isn’t a new idea; it is the fundamental reason that the league exists. Lately, my thoughts linger on the impact that the league will have for fans. For most of my life, I took for granted how lucky I was to attend many high-level games. Living in Southern Ontario, a two-hour road trip delivered me to several TFC and Canadian National team games each year. I was also within a six-hour drive of two NWSL cities, so I was able to see the Portland Thorns play live four to five times a […]
