Annual General Meeting

We’re holding our first ever Annual General Meeting at 7:00pm on Thursday February 7th at the King’s Head pub. We’re going to discuss our plan for the inaugural season and elect a board of directors to run the group. If you’d like to get involved on the board you can send your name and the position for which you’re applying to volunteer@redriverrising.ca. The deadline for applications is 11:59pm Sunday February 3, 2019. And if you don’t want to be on the board but still want to pitch in we’ll have opportunities for volunteers to join the committees we’re creating. We’ll focus on things like game day operations, community outreach, merchandise, and communications. We’ll share more details at the meeting. Welcome to Winnipeg Skylar!

For months CanPL fans across the country have been eagerly awaiting news of the first player signings and yesterday, the league cleverly began building anticipation with several teasers. Valour FC posted a letter and video from our first player, giving us a sneak peek at who it might be, and the speculation began with fervor.  When Coach Rob Gale teased that he was giving us a ‘set-piece weapon” and we read that our player was ready to put it all out there on the pitch for us, we were hooked. Now we know that our player, the first man committed to representing Valour, is Skylar Thomas and we wholeheartedly welcome him to this city! United For Valour

Winnipeg is a vibrant community, represented by many different cultures and socioeconomic groups.  Since moving to Winnipeg nearly 4 years ago, one of the things that has impressed me the most is how Winnipeg truly reflects Canadian Multiculturalism.  It is only fitting that our city’s soccer club, Valour FC, will have a rich, diverse supporters section to match. Recently some of our members reached out to express concern about a post made in our Facebook group by Route 60 Radicals.  We love your passion and your protectiveness for Red River Rising, Valour’s first and original supporters group.  We agree that the recruitment feel to the end of the post was not ideal.  However, we chose to leave that post up and here is why.
