We’re holding our first ever Annual General Meeting at 7:00pm on Thursday February 7th at the King’s Head pub. We’re going to discuss our plan for the inaugural season and elect a board of directors to run the group.
If you’d like to get involved on the board you can send your name and the position for which you’re applying to volunteer@redriverrising.ca. The deadline for applications is 11:59pm Sunday February 3, 2019.
And if you don’t want to be on the board but still want to pitch in we’ll have opportunities for volunteers to join the committees we’re creating. We’ll focus on things like game day operations, community outreach, merchandise, and communications. We’ll share more details at the meeting.
So make sure you join us at the meeting at 7:00pm on February 7, we’re excited for the league kick off in April and Red River Rising will be marching to the first match to sing for Valour FC.
Board Positions and Duties
President – Leads the board and carries out Red River Rising’s mission and ensures accomplishment of goals. Directs members in their roles. Calls and conducts board meetings. Primary spokesperson for Red River Rising.
Vice President – Operations Officer. Performs those functions delegated by the President. Performs the duties of the President when they are unable to perform them. Chairs or Co-chairs at least one committee that is operational in scope and is Red River Rising’s Valour FC team liaison.
Treasurer – Oversees the Red River Rising’s finances and fundraising. Perform those functions delegated to the Treasurer by the President. Safeguards the group’s assets and maintains control over the receipt and disbursement of Red River Rising’s funds. Oversees the preparation of the annual budget.
Secretary – Maintains records of the board and ensures effective management of organization’s records. Prepares agendas and provides guidance on proper meeting procedures. Takes minutes at board meetings. Is sufficiently familiar with legal documents (articles, by-laws, etc.) to note applicability during meetings. Valour FC and Red River Rising historian.
