Welcome Valour FC!

Today we marched in full song and voice toward Investors Group Field, full of anticipation for the unveiling of our team name and branding.  We expected the team name to be Valour FC but we were still eager for confirmation, and couldn’t wait to see our logo.  We have been waiting for this moment for more than a year and it did not disappoint. The stadium was packed, and it was gratifying to see that so many others were also excited for the return of Professional Soccer in Winnipeg.  There is so much more to come, but we are signing off tonight with a cheer for Valour FC! Join Our First March to the Stadium

We weren’t joking when we asked you to book the whole afternoon off.  June 6th is the launch date for Winnipeg’s Canadian Premiere League team and our first ever march to the stadium will depart Nicolino’s Restaurant at 1:30 pm . Come early for beer and pizza and then join us as we march in full voice to the stadium for the very first time. We know it will be tough to come out in the middle of the work day, but we hope you join us to show the rest of Canada what Winnipeg support means.  You won’t want to miss this, and we don’t want you to miss it either. All are welcome (seriously — bring anyone you can), even if you can’t RSVP. It will help us immensely in our planning however if you can let us know if […]

Get Behind the New Tradition

With the tremendous run of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets long playoff run, still fresh in our minds, a new journey within the Winnipeg professional sporting world is set to begin with the Canadian Premier League June 6th. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will announce the team name, colors, and ticket prices. As the “White Out” rallied Winnipeggers for a common cause of seeing the Winnipeg Jets go for a deep playoff run, we as soccer fans of a new professional team in this city can take some inspiration and lessons as we embark on our exciting new journey. The enthusiasm shown by Jets fans during the playoffs is a testament to this city’s passion for supporting their sports teams in both poor and great times. Before the 2017-2018 season, the Winnipeg Jets had only qualified for the playoffs once since returning for […]

We Have Work To Do

I spent most of Sunday morning still basking in the euphoria of Friday’s CPL launch. After long delays, many of us joked that the day might never come, but in recent weeks we started seeing indications that an official launch was near. While frustrating at times, in the end the wait was worth it. Along with the new website and branding, an official confirmation of a Spring 2019 league kick off made this suddenly feel very real. We have less than a year which means it is time to get busy!  If your plan to support this league involves buying season tickets next year and cheering loudly in the stands, that is fantastic.  But there are many important ways we can all help out now. It is vital that we keep the conversation going.  If you haven’t already followed the […]
